Weight Management

Achieve your weight loss goals with expert guidance, advanced tools, and personalized care. Our comprehensive, physician-led approach ensures your weight loss journey is safe, sustainable, and tailored to your body’s unique needs. Our joy in healthcare is cheering on patients and encouraging them each step of the way as you take the first step toward a healthier, more confident you.

What to Expect

Our approach begins with evidenced based life style changes. We begin with a detailed family and personal history to identify risk factors, and a careful food diary is obtained to determine what specific dietary patterns are responsible. We also utilize lab testing to identify metabolic or hormonal factors alongside an electrocardiogram (ECG) to assess heart health. Intervention begins with encouragement on obtaining 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise and twice weekly resistance training. We provide dietary coaching on a weekly basis, and each month we will monitor your progress with weigh-ins, lipid panels, dimension measurements, and body composition analysis.

Medications

Once lifestyle intervention has been maximized, if our goals of losing 1-2 pounds per week is not being achieved, then we will introduce prescription medication as appropriate. GLP-1 agonists support significant and sustained weight loss by reducing appetite, improving insulin sensitivity, and promoting better metabolic health. Because GLP-1 medications like Wegovy, Zepbound, and Ozempic can have side effects, routine monitoring by a health professional is advised to ensure your treatment is managed safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

Serenity offers cardiology, internal medicine, weight management, diagnostic testing, and telemedicine services focused on personalized care.

We are "out of network" with all insurance plans. We do not have contracts with any commercial health insurance companies. We will gladly provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement, if requested. Unfortunately, insurance reimbursement only provides for limited interaction and consultation with physicians. (This is why many physicians only spend 5-10 minutes with their patients). We are dedicated to devoting the necessary time and attention beyond what traditional insurance dictates. Cutting ties with insurance companies allows us to provide the kind of service that you deserve.
You should keep your regular insurance for any outside imaging or lab work which may be needed. Your insurance plan should cover hospitalizations & emergency room visits.

Unfortunately, we do not accept Medicare or Tricare at this time and we can only see patients < 65 years of age. This may change in the future, so kindly add your name to our mailing list and we will update you once this policy changes.

For both Cardiology & Internal Medicine, we provide an initial consultation for all patients for an a la carte fee. For ongoing care, we offer two models of care

1. Membership. Comprehensive support where you have levels of access to Dr Brown via text messaging or phone call (in between visits). Imaging tests are discounted & follow ups are included.

2. A la carte. Choose to pay per visit, if you believe this is the right fit for you

By declining to contract with insurance companies, Dr Brown is able to provide lengthy, patient-centered appointments. He is also able to keep wait times to a minimum, provide transparent pricing, and focus on individualized, preventive care without limitations.
We provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. You should still maintain your health insurance benefits for testing, medications, and other preventive or acute care.

We understand that schedules change, and we’re always willing to accommodate patients in these circumstances. If you realize that you have a scheduling conflict, please contact us as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment(s).

We must be contacted at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If you do not contact us > 24 hrs prior to the appointment, then additional charges may apply.

Patients: You can order your own consultation at Serenity. No referral is required. If you’ve been referred by your doctor, please ask them to reach out to Dr Brown directly for expedited care

Providers: For referring physicians, we accept patients from both FL & NY. Providers, please do not hesitate to contact us for any question or to refer a patient by phone, email or this website.

Yes, Serenity provides virtual consultations, allowing patients throughout Florida to receive convenient medical care from home. We offer both telehealth and in-person appointments based on your needs.

We help manage heart conditions, high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, preventive care, and general medical concerns.

We cover Pensacola, Pace, Milton, Gulf Breeze and Pine Forest, including Escambia & Santa Rosa Counties. We welcome patients from other surrounding neighborhoods. With telemedicine we can see patients throughout Florida.

Start by checking the web for the doctor’s credentials. See his reviews and ask friends who they have used. A reputable cardiologist should be board certified and recommended by other patients. At Serenity, Dr. Brown focuses on prevention, providing a lengthy unrushed experience with thoughtful, evidence-based care.
